چکیده
High-pressure drops characteristic of microchannel heat sinks (MCHS) is an issue that needs to be addressed reduce the size heat-removing devices in compact electronic devices. Supercritical carbon dioxide (s-CO₂) a suitable candidate being proposed as alternative coolant enhance cooling sink (MCHS), with high flux, due its favorable thermophysical properties near critical point. In this study, numerical simulations are conducted evaluate thermal and hydraulic performance channel for designed s-CO₂ (at constant P = 8 MPa $$ P=8\ \mathrm{MPa} ) compare it conventional liquid (water). The effect coolants mass flow rate ( m ̇ \dot{m} ), aspect ratio (AR), inlet temperatures on one studied by varying from 0.004 0.03 kg/s AR 0.33 10. results show that, same ratio, geometry, offers higher overall transfer coefficient (32%) lower friction factor (pumping power) compared water at temperature (T 32°C). pumping power comparison between two reveal CO₂ supercritical conditions , T 32°C), consumed varies change which 1.85 times than 3.6 However, subcooled state, reverse seen.

Experimental study of convective heat transfer coefficient of MgO nanofluid in a cylindrical microchannel heat sink
Convective heat transfer of MgO-water nanofluid in a microchannel heat sink is experimentally investigated in various concentrations of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.6 wt%. The microchannel consisted of 48 parallel rectangular cross section channels with the height of 800 µm, width of 524 µm and length of 52 mm. A well stability duration (ca. 1 month) was resulted by a 180 min ultra-sonication of the ...

In this work, single layered (SL) and double layered (DL) flexible microchannel heat sinks are analyzed. The deformation of the supporting seals is related to the average internal pressure by theory of elasticity. It is found that sufficient cooling can be achieved using SL flexible microchannel heat sinks at lower pressure drop values for softer seals. Double layered flexible microchannel heat...
متن کاملOptimization of a chimney design for cooling efficiency of a radial heat sink in a LED downlight
A cooling system, consisting of a chimney and a radial heat sink, was developed for a light-emitting diode (LED) downlight to replace a conventional light for saving energy. Natural convection was simulated with a numerical model that was verified experimentally. When the chimney was installed around the radial heat sink, the cooling efficiency of the heat sink was improved because the cooling ...

Subcooled flow boiling in multi-microchannels can be used as an efficient thermal management approach in compact electrical devices. Highly subcooled flow boiling of HFE 7100 is studied in two microchannel heat sinks to choose a proper numerical model for simulating boiling flows in microchannels. Results of five different numerical models, including Volume of Fluid (VOF), Eulerian boiling, Eul...
